DESIGN WORKSHOP, DIGSWELL VILLAGE CHURCH - DECEMBER 2011
W R Dunn & Co Ltd. recently held a Design Workshop evening at Digswell Village Church in Hertfordshire. The event follows a successful presentation (RIBA Stages A & B - Feasibility and Options Appraisals Report) in July for the redevelopment of the 1960/70s church where ideas have been explored to partly rebuild the meeting rooms, kitchen facilities and associated spaces. The design brief has been to facilitate modern, flexibile and DDA compliant facilities to allow not only the Methodist and Anglican congregation, but also the many other user groups of the building better access and use of the facility.
The Design Workshop invited members of the church and the community to express their ideas and preferences for the redevelopment and offered an opportunity to talk directly to us as Architect's. Approximitely 15 - 20 people attended the drop-in style event and several drawings and diagrams were produced, all of which form a valuable part of the consultation and design development process.
