WR Dunn & Co were lead designers for this superb conversion and refurbishment project which involved transforming a series of redundant and unoccupied agricultural buildings into a large family dwelling. The properties are positioned within a remote picturesque valley with unspoilt views in all directions.
Our client was keen to include innovative and sustainable elements into the design, including no importing of stone, and to only re-use the stone on site, introduction of a Biomass boiler, utilisation of a nearby natural spring and borehole to supply drinking water, and high performance thermal insulation throughout all elements of construction.
The completed project provided a sympathetically restored 5-bedroom property with substantial living accommodation, stable, garage, office/playroom and outbuildings surrounded by open rural landscapes.
